In the quiet fields of Tublihon, Kapalong, Davao del Norte, the rice farmers and proud members of the Tublihon Florida Small Impounding System Association have a new story to tellโone of transformation, resilience, and triumph.
During an interview, they shared their experiences with bright smiles and heartfelt gratitude, recounting their experiences with the Agro Ecology Project, an ongoing initiative for rice farmers spearheaded by the Integrated Rural Development Foundation (IRDF) in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA).
For them, this project has been more than supportโitโs been a lifeline. It has opened doors to greater income, eased the burden of daily needs, and brought food security right to their family tables. Through communal gardening, they have reaped fresh produce not only to nourish their households but also to earn extra incomeโturning hard work into real rewards.
Once, their days were filled with uncertainty. Now, every harvest carries a taste of hope and the sweet proof that success is possible when communities and projects work hand in hand.
โWhat an experience,โ one farmer said with pride, โto see our efforts bloom, not just in our fields, but in our lives.โ
