Food, Land, Water and Climate Justice Advocacy

IRDF combines research, farmer consultations, public education and campaigns to advance policies that protect rural people’s rights and strengthen local food systems. Its advocacy addresses food sovereignty, rice policy, agrarian reform, land use, climate justice and farmers’ access to public support. Recent work includes IRDF’s analysis of the Philippine rice deficit and its calls for stronger support for rice farmers and effective public procurement. IRDF also raises questions about coconut levy fund governance and farmers’ participation in decisions affecting those resources. At the local level, the program can bring community evidence on land, water and environmental impacts into public decision-making.
