Farmer-Led Livelihoods, Cooperatives and Rural Enterprises

IRDF helps farmer organizations and cooperatives develop livelihoods and enterprises that create local value, improve market access and give producers greater control over their income and resources. Support may include business planning, product development, processing, market links and cooperative management. Recent examples include the Coco 3 coconut husk valorization project, which ran from 2019 to 2025 and developed work around coco chips, cocopeat and fiber, and IRDF’s support for coconut farmer organizations exploring copra and coconut-based value chains. In Sorsogon, the Sorsogon Pili Producers Cooperative offers another example of cooperative enterprise development linked to local products and food security.
